I heard the New York accented caller to the Hugh Hewitt show yesterday talk about how Israel was culpable for the Palestinian Crisis.  She is ignorant and delusional, suffering from psychological projection and displacement.  Truth is that Arafat's legacy continues and Palestinians are painted as victims because Israel is successful.  Jews bought the Swamp/Malaria infested wastelands of Israel from absentee Arab landlords in the late 1800's for 3 times the price of fertile farm land in Iowa.  The so called Palestinians came from Trans-Jordan to work during the building boom created by the relocating Jews.  Palestinian Child birth survivability and Palestinian life expectancy skyrocketed due to Jewish Hospitals and Malarial containment due to the draining of the swamps. Palestinian Refugees is a euphemism for those that live in apartments and do not work.

Imad Mughniyeh, the military leader of Hezbollah described as the 'bin Laden of the 1980s', has been killed in a car bomb in Damascus.

A statement by the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah said that Mughniyeh - one of the most wanted terrorists in the world, linked to a string of attacks in which hundreds died - had been killed by Israeli agents.

“With all pride we declare a great Jihadist leader of the Islamic resistance in Lebanon joining the martyrs ... The brother commander hajj Imad Mughinyeh became a martyr at the hands of the Zionist Israelis,” said a statement carried on Hezbollah’s television.

Mr. McCain's support for the sea treaty stretched back to the 1990s, when he signed a letter with three other senators urging its passage, and continued through 2003, when he was scheduled to testify on its behalf before a Senate committee.

But after the rest of the Republican presidential field took a stand against the treaty this month, Mr. McCain had little choice but to change, conservatives said.

 

The measure, which creates an independent source of revenue for the United Nations, is now pending in the Senate, of which McCain is a member. This is not an obscure or irrelevant issue for him. He could have a big impact on the fate of this treaty, which he has described as providing “a comprehensive regime of law and order in the world’s oceans and seas” and serving “as an umbrella convention under which rules governing all uses of the oceans and their resources are established.”

The treaty creates three new international institutions—the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea, the International Seabed Authority, and the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf. U.S. companies would pay taxes or “fees” for access to oil, gas and minerals. But such access would be determined by the treaty organizations, not the weakened U.S. Navy. Testimony shows that it could also affect economic and industrial activities on land.

Republican Presidental candidate John McCain has long supported embryonic stem cell research, but he's under pressure from religious conservatives to drop that support in favor of unproven stem cell techniques.

Lifenews.com reports that Senator Sam Brownback (R-Kansas), an outspoken opponent of embryonic stem cell (ESC) research, has asked McCain to abandon his ESC support.

Harvesting ESCs involves the destruction of several-day-old human embryos, a process that Brownback and other religious conservatives consider to be murder.

While McCain doesn't approve of making cloned embryos to generate the potentially disease-curing cells, he's voted to fund research on stem cells made from embryos that would otherwise be discarded during assisted reproduction.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain has taken a pro-life position on abortion, but his views on embryonic stem cell research are a cause for concern among many pro-life advocates. The Arizona senator defended his position in support of the destructive research at a Florida campaign stop.

McCain said he continues to support forcing taxpayers to fund the research, which involves the destruction of human life and has never helped patients, but called his support for it “a very agonizing and tough decision."

“All I can say to you is that I went back and forth, back and forth on it and I came in on one of the toughest decisions I’ve ever had, in favor of that research," he said, according to a Catholic News Agency report.

"And one reason being very frankly is those embryos will be either discarded or kept in permanent frozen status," he explained.

“I understand how divisive this is among the pro-life community," McCain added.

According to CNA, he explained how he hopes that the science will advance to the point that embryonic stem cell research is unnecessary.

Pro-life advocates believe that day has already come.
