While listening to Hugh Hewitt's show today a female caller into his show was vacillating between GOP Candidates Romney and Huckabee.  Her mind seemed to be telling her Romney but her heart seemed to be telling her Huckabee.  Hugh Hewitt not surprisingly advised her to contemplate over the weekend and make her decision.  I wondered what would help this sincere and conflicted caller and it came to me.....Who would the late great Ronald Reagan vote for?  Voile problem solved as that makes it easy.  Quickly I zinged a email to Mr. Hewitt and he ended his show with WWRRD....Who Would Ronald Reagan do....Romney or McCain? and posted it to his site which has gotten quite a few "Interesting" responses!  This dove tails so nicely with the Heritage Foundation's campaign of What Would Reagan Do?  So I'll use Ronald Reagan Logic and Principles to answer the question of Whom would Ronald Reagan vote for.

Sniper video controversy

On October 18, 2006, CNN aired a small portion of a videotape sent to Ware which showed terrorist snipers shooting at and apparently killing American troops.^[3] The video was a tape sent to CNN to which Ware added narration for the edited broadcast that showed American soldiers being stalked and eventually brought under fire by the terrorists. After the news report was shown, Press Secretary Tony Snow accused CNN of "propagandizing" the American public.^[4]. Representative Duncan Hunter, then-chairman of the House Arme Services Committee asked Donald Rumsfeld to remove CNN embedded reporters following the airing of the news report,claiming that "C-N-N has now served as the publicist for an enemy propaganda film featuring the killing of an American soldier."^[5]

The Father of Naval Combat Demolition," was directed to set up a school and train people to eliminate obstacles on an enemy-held beach prior to an invasion.

On 6 June 1943, LCDR Kaufmann established Naval Combat Demolition Unit training at Ft. Pierce. By April 1944, a total of 34 NCDUs were deployed to England in preparation for Operation OVERLORD, the amphibious landing at Normandy.

On 6 June 1944, in the face of great adversity, the NCDUs at Omaha Beach managed to blow eight complete gaps and two partial gaps in the German defenses. The NCDUs suffered 31 killed and 60 wounded, a casualty rate of 52%. Meanwhile, the NCDUs at Utah Beach met less intense enemy fire. They cleared 700 yards of beach in two hours, another 900 yards by the afternoon. Casualties at Utah Beach were significantly lighter with 6 killed and 11 wounded. During Operation OVERLORD, not a single demolitioneer was lost to improper handling of explosives.

 

LCDR Draper Kaufman was summoned to Washington. His tasking was to recruit, train and deploy groups of men (all volunteers, as the Navy's SEAL and SDV Teams are today) who could be deployed in low numbers along an intended beachhead prior to an amphibious assault. These men would be trained to collect, record and interpret valuable hydrographic reconnaissance information about the intended-landing site. This information would include underwater obstacles, enemy positions and strengths, tidal movement, water depths and reef positions. All of this information would have to be quickly and secretly gathered by a small group of unarmed men who would perform their mission right under the noses of enemy gunners….without enemy detection and with a high probability of success and the recovery of reliable information. This information, when provided to Naval Commanders, would allow amphibious assault planning that would result in the most successful and least costly invasion operation. Additionally, this small group of men would also be tasked with returning just prior to the assault to neutralize many of these obstacles with explosives. 

There were fences, barriers, barb wire and mines along the beach.  During the Korean War he also parachuted into several battles.  He had a badge for his exploits during the Korean War and another badge for having served in combat over 30 days straight in Korea. America is Great and Noble because of Men like this American Army Soldier...............He informs me that he counsels Iraqi War Vets and they all say the Media is making their JOB so much harder and they wish the MSM would leave.  I guess no Ernie Pyles in the MSM anymore.

• A young Chicano spoke of his association with MECHA and the Azatlan Movement, a Latino organization that advocates reoccupying the western United States by force, if necessary, to create a Latino nation. Azatlan members call themselves "America's Palestinians." He identified himself as homosexual and pointed out that Greenhouse was, too; this seemed relevant to their alliance with the Palestinian cause. Neither acknowledged let alone addressed the fact that gays are brutally persecuted under the Palestinian Authority in contrast to Israel, where they enjoy full civil rights. Many gay Palestinians have actually sought refugee status in Israel, fearing for their lives under the Arafat regime.

The issue then was an article advocating racist violence against law-enforcement officers, which appeared in Mecha's own publication. It cheered the murder of a Hispanic Immigration and Naturalization Service officer, saying he was a "traitor . . . to his race" and adding: "We're glad this pig died, he deserved to die. . . . The only good one is a dead one."
  It gets even worse. As we noted in March, Mecha is a virulently anti-Semitic organization, which is easily enough confirmed by a visit to the group's own Web site. Yet the university regards the group as somehow representing "diversity." A Web search turned up this 1999 memo to UCSD's chancellor by a self-described piece of furniture (Herbert York, "chair" of the "Diversity Council") urging that "the chancellor should raise new funds and/or allocate existing funds to ensure the effective implementation of the AASU and MEChA high school conferences and recognition ceremonies, respectively." (The AASU is the African American Student Union.)
  Mecha's members are entitled to exercise their First Amendment right of free expression. But they no more deserve university subsidies and moral support--let alone an effort to silence their critics--than would a campus chapter of the Ku Klux Klan.

Road closures due to the fire meant migrants could not meet drivers, Mahler said. Typically, migrants pay about $1,500 each to be guided through rugged canyons for hours, even days, and be picked up by someone at a roadside checkpoint for the drive to San Diego.

Many illegal immigrants appeared to heed the advice of the Border Patrol and the Mexican government, aired on television and radio in Tijuana, Mexico, to stay away from the fires. The Border Patrol radio was unusually quiet Tuesday. Its motion sensors laced throughout the canyons, which escaped damaged, did not set alarms.

Some illegal immigrants, however, took the risk.

About 50 migrants have surrendered to the Border Patrol since the fires began Sunday, fearing for their safety. One was seriously burned Monday when he and five others sought help from firefighters and they were all taken to a San Diego hospital, according to the Mexican consulate in San Diego. No deaths have been reported.

Some of the six migrants who were rescued by firefighters Monday told Mexican authorities that smugglers convinced them the Border Patrol would be distracted, said Alberto Lozano, a spokesman for the Mexican consulate in San Diego.

"The smugglers see the opportunity," Joe Mason, a Border Patrol field operations supervisor, said as his truck wound through the bald canyons. "They figure there's a good chance that the Border Patrol's not around."

 

About 200 of the 600 National Guard troops who normally help patrol California's border with Mexico also were reassigned to assist with fires further north.
That left the steep hills on the border relatively unattended, and some illegal immigrants apparently took advantage. There was a trail of fresh footprints through one ash-blanketed canyon Tuesday. 

There is no mention of how many illegals crossing the border were injured but most of us have heard of the 4 illegals killed killed along the border as stated below.  However I found this about a low estimate of 1600 illegal of what are called "rural homeless."  Amazing Pictures of how they live below.  Maybe I should post this?  What do ya think?  Mexico is at blame for their deaths not Americans.

SAN DIEGO — The wildfires that have consumed thousands of acres throughout southern California have laid claim to four more victims, authorities said.

The four charred remains were discovered in what is being described as a migrant camp, according to authorities. Border Patrol agents found it in a wooded area near Barrett Junction, east of San Diego along the Mexican border.

The area is close to a major entry point for illegal immigrants making the journey into the United States.

Authories could not be certain when exactly the four victims had died.

"They could have been out there a while," said a spokesman for the San Diego County medical examiner's office.
