Community Organizer a Hillary Democrat's take!

Now that Lady Sarah from Alaska is getting reprimanded by the Obama Campaign for comminting the unspeakable... the sin of hurting the feelings of Community Organizers by wondering in front of a national audience how this qualifies Obama to be President it is interesting to learn that some Daily Kos people wondered the same thing months ago.  Here is the timely perspective from the Confluence, a Hillary supporter and Daily Kos contributor wonders how Community Organizer experiences of a Barack H. Obama make him a match for Hillary Clinton's during the Democrat Party's Primary season last April in this post entitled Barack Obama: Community Organizer

In terms of concrete accomplishments, Obama and “hundreds of other organizers” were not able to transform the South Side neighborhoods or bring in new industries to provide jobs. Obama’s most commonly cited achievement was in forcing the city to begin testing for asbestos in all city apartments. The work did have a powerful impact on Obama himself.

    • “I can’t say we didn’t make mistakes, that I knew what I was doing,” Obama recalled three years ago to a boisterous convention of the still-active DCP. “Sometimes I called a meeting, and nobody showed up. Sometimes preachers said, ‘Why should I listen to you?’ Sometimes we tried to hold politicians accountable, and they didn’t show up. I couldn’t tell whether I got more out of it than this neighborhood.”
  • It does appear that his history of community organizing is central to Obama’s identity, seemingly even more important to him than his work as a legislator. The mystery is how with all this community activity, Obama managed to remain ignorant of the fact that his benefactor, Antoin Rezko, wasn’t paying utility bills for his tenents, many of whom lived in Obama’s IL state senate district.
  • Thanks, Katiebird. I don’t understand it either. How in the world could people like Kennedy, Kerry, and Daschle think this is enough preparation for the presidency–even in “normal” times, much less with the huge problems we have now? They seem to think that the role of President is just to “inspire.” The guy doesn’t even inspire me, and obviously more than half of Democrats who have voted so far agree with me. I just don’t get it.

Oz-bama vs Sarah from Alaska

Teleprompter challengedObama Speech - Teleprompter Goes Out videovideoObama's thin credentials reveal him to be like the Wizard of Oz...."pay no attention to that person behind the curtain"The Wizard of Oz: Pay No Attention....BO has been exposed for the Rookie that he is not by Dorothy and Toto from Kansas but by an impressive Sarah Palin from Alaska whose dog can lead a Dog Sled team captained by her(another Alakan lady).  Palin had to ad lib when her teleprompter went down and did not turn into a Stuttering Porky the Pig like Obama, when his went down.  Palin took down a corrupt Governor Markowski Political Machine without the help of the MSM(see Wizbangblog) while BO's career was propeled by the corrupt Cook County Political machine with help from slum lord Tony Resko and Underground Weather Bombing terrorist William Ayers.
Word to Democrats and BO you should have let Hilary get her D&C crown and forced BO to go back to basics starting at the PTA(Presidential Training Association) as it worked for Lady Sarah and turned her into a feisty and capable GO-vernator from the North who looks like she'd give not only BO a run for his money in a mano to mano take down but Hillary too...http://www.radioparadise.com/content.php?name=songinfo&song_id=32511

San Fran's ArchBishop gives a Mimi 2 Pelosi..

Archbishop George H. Niederauer Pelosi Response:

Speaker Pelosi's remarks called forth many responses, from Catholics in the pews as well as from bishops. As a result, on Tuesday, August 26, two days after "Meet the Press" had aired, the Speaker's office issued a statement on her behalf. It contained this sentence: "While Catholic teaching is clear that life begins at conception, many Catholics do not ascribe[sic] to that view." That statement suggests that morality can be decided by poll, by numbers. If 90 percent of Catholics subscribe to the view that human life begins at conception, does that makes Church teaching truer than if only 70 percent or 50 percent agree?

Authentic moral teaching is based on objective truth, not polling. For instance, in 1861, as the Civil War began, a majority of the residents of Massachusetts opposed slavery, a majority of the residents of South Carolina approved of slavery, and in Missouri people were sharply divided on the issue. Does that mean that, in 1861, slavery was immoral in Massachusetts, moral in South Carolina, and something of a moral "wash" in Missouri? Sound moral teaching demands much more good sense than that.

Since August 24 many Catholics have written me letters and sent me e-mails in which they expressed their dismay and concern about the Speaker's remarks. Very often they moved on to a question that caused much discussion during the 2004 campaign: Is it necessary to deny Holy Communion to some Catholics in public life because of their public support for abortion on demand?

I regret the necessity of addressing these issues in so public a forum, but the widespread consternation among Catholics made it unavoidable. Speaker Pelosi has often said how highly she values her Catholic faith, and how much it is a source of joy for her. Accordingly, as her pastor, I am writing to invite her into a conversation with me about these matters. It is my obligation to teach forthrightly and to shepherd caringly, and that is my intent. Let us pray together that the Holy Spirit will guide us all toward a more profound understanding and appreciation for human life, and toward a resolution of these differences in truth and charity and peace.
Basically the Archbishop is acting like a UN whimp and is reluctantly asking Mimi Pelosi to report to the Principles office!....when? ...come in when ever you like?.....why not do lunch?....What a waste of an opportunity....hey Archbishop, you should listen to the Holy Spirit who is giving America a wake up call to be steadfast on the Issue of Life!....
Read it here as he outlines the Chruch's Teachings in a definitive way, has a good wind up but then throws a dud as if he is scared of her.  Pelosi knows better so does the Archbishop who is no St. Paul.

America branded onto the Soul of John S. McCain

Barack Hussein Obama and his wife Michelle are nice people but something is awry...they are self-centered chip on their shoulders disciples of Anti-American Christian in name only hateful African Liberation Theology Pastor Jeremiah Wright.  The Obamas are impressive but compared to the story of the McCains there is no comparison.
The McCains, both Cindy and John are Americans who embody all that is good in America.  The charity, philantrophy and humanitarian work of Cindy McCain is something Mother Teresa of Calcutta would be proud of.  John McCain is a disciple of the Declaration of Independence which he learned to serve while suffering the desparation, desolation, dprivity at the hands of his captors, the VietCong.  His fellowship was with other American POWs who sustained one another while figting for the freedom we Americas barely understand or appreciate.  John McCain is an American Hero who belongs on Mount Rushmore.  The courage, selflessness, boldness, Love of Country and Love of Life is without
equal it is breathtaking!....
John S. McCain belongs in the pantheon of American War Hero Presidents...He Belongs on Mount Rushmore....Why?  His experience and his words have changed the definition of "Patriotism" for me...he has exalted the meaning "Love of Country" for me...Because he suffered for our country and his fellow POW Soldiers sustained him when broken he was grafted into the fabric of our Democracy and his fellow American GIs where grafted onto his heart.  The resurrection of John McCain in that Vietnamese tomb so many years ago was the MOMENT when his Love of America was branded onto his SOUL transforming it while saving it for Eternity and saving him for a greater Earthly role.  John McCain is America....John McCain is the metal and substance that George Washington, Andrew Jackson, Ulysses Grant, Dwight D. Eisenhower and George H.W. Bush all War Presidents of the United States of America are made of......John McCain is my Next President...

I was in solitary confinement when my captors offered to release me. I knew why: if I went home, they would use it as propaganda to demoralize my fellow prisoners. Our Code said we could only go home in the order of our capture, and there were men who had been shot down before me. I thought about it, though. I wasn't in great shape, and I missed everything about America. But I turned it down.

A lot of prisoners had it much worse -- (cheers, applause) -- a lot of -- a lot of prisoners had it much worse than I did. I'd been mistreated before, but not as badly as many others. I always liked to strut a little after I'd been roughed up to show the other guys I was tough enough to take it. But after I turned down their offer, they worked me over harder than they ever had before -- for a long time -- and they broke me.

When they brought me back to my cell, I was hurt and ashamed, and I didn't know how I could face my fellow prisoners.
The good man in the cell next door to me -- my friend, Bob Craner -- saved me. Through taps on a wall, he told me I had fought as hard as I could. No man can always stand alone. And then he told me to get back up and fight again for my country and for the men I had the honor to serve with, because every day they fought for me. (Cheers, applause.)

I fell in love with my country when I was a prisoner in someone else's. I loved it not just for the many comforts of life here; I loved it for its decency, for its faith in the wisdom, justice and goodness of its people.

I loved it because it was not just a place, but an idea, a cause worth fighting for. I was never the same again. I wasn't my own man anymore, I was my country's. (Extended cheers and applause.)

I'm not running for president because I think I'm blessed with such personal greatness that history has anointed me to save our country in its hour of need. (Cheers, applause.) My country saved me. My country saved me, and I cannot forget it. And I will fight for her for as long as I draw breath, so help me God. (Cheers, applause.)

John McCain GOP convention speech. "Nothing is inevitable here" Transcript
Excerpted

I don't mind a good fight. For reasons known only to God, I've had quite a few tough ones in my life. But I learned an important lesson along the way: In the end, it matters less that you can fight. What you fight for is the real test. (Cheers, applause.) I fight for AmericansMy friends, I've been an imperfect servant of my country for many years, but I've been her servant first, last and always. And I've never -- (cheers, applause) -- I've never lived a day, in good times or bad, that I didn't thank God for the privilege. (Cheers, applause.)

Long ago, something unusual happened to me that taught me the most valuable lesson of my life. I was blessed by misfortune. I mean that sincerely.

I was blessed because I served in the company of heroes, and I witnessed a thousand acts of courage and compassion and love.

On an October morning in the Gulf of Tonkin, I prepared for my 23rd mission over North Vietnam. I hadn't any worry I wouldn't come back safe and sound. I thought I was tougher than anyone. I was pretty independent then, too. (Laughter.) I liked to bend a few rules and pick a few fights for the fun of it. (Laughter.) But I did it for my own pleasure, my own pride. I didn't think there was a cause more important than me.

Then I found myself falling toward the middle of a small lake in the city of Hanoi with two broken arms, a broken leg, and an angry crowd waiting to greet me. (Laughter.) I was dumped in a dark cell and left to die. I didn't feel so tough anymore.

When they discovered my father was an admiral, they took me to a hospital. They couldn't set my bones property -- properly, so they just slapped a cast on me. And when I didn't get better and was down to about a hundred pounds, they put me in a cell with two other Americans. I couldn't do anything; I couldn't even feed myself. They did it for me. I was beginning to learn the limits of my selfish independence. Those men saved my life. (Cheers, applause.)

(Audience chanting "USA, USA, USA, USA.")

My friends, if you find faults with our country, make it a better one. If you're disappointed with the mistakes of government, join its ranks and work to correct them. Enlist -- (cheers, applause) -- enlist in our armed forces. Become a teacher. Enter the ministry. Run for public office. Feed a hungry child. Teach an -- an illiterate adult to read. Comfort the afflicted. Defend the rights of the oppressed.

Our country will be the better and you will be the happier because nothing brings greater happiness in life than to serve a cause greater than yourself. (Cheers, applause, chants of "USA! USA!")

I'm going to fight for my cause every day as your president. I'm going to fight to make sure every American has every reason to thank God as I thank him: that I'm an American, a proud citizen of the greatest country on Earth, and with hard work -- with hard work, strong faith and a little courage, great things are always within our reach.

Fight with me. Fight with me. (Cheers, applause.) Fight for what's right for our country. Fight for the ideals and character of a free people. (Cheers, applause continue.)

Fight for our children's future. Fight for justice and opportunity for all. (Cheers, applause continue.)

Stand up to defend our country from its enemies. Stand up for each other; for beautiful, blessed, bountiful America. (Cheers, applause continue.)

Stand up, stand up, stand up and fight. Nothing is inevitable here. (Cheers, applause continue.)

We're Americans, and we never give up. We never quit. (Cheers, applause continue.) We never hide from history. We make history. (Cheers, applause continue.)

Thank you, and God bless you and God bless America. (Cheers, applause.)

END.

God Bless John McCain, through and through an American Patriot and Leader....

I've been looking for Palin Quotes & but them in Cliff Notes form.

Bon Apetite...Doc

Katie Couric:
  • the speech was "feisty, folksy, fiery, and emotional," and added she "pounded Barack Obama, attacking him on everything, from his positions on Iraq to terrorism, to taxes, and said some politicians 'use change to promote their careers.'"
Campbell Brown:
  •  said, "I would say also that John McCain got his attack dog."
Anderson Cooper:
  • "If anyone is wondering why she is such a popular governor in the state of Alaska, you saw the answer tonight."
Joe Trippi:
  •  "She passed this test with flying colors, but this one was controlled, a crowd that adored her with a telepromter...we'll see how she does against Joe Biden
Sorry Joe the Prompter broke and she was Prompterless for a while as was Rudy
  • Palin's appearance "electrified a convention that has been consumed by questions of whether she was up to the job,"
  • Palin "may be controversial, risky and untested on the national stage. But at the convention Wednesday night," she "proved to be an instant jolt of energy for a political party worried and demoralized for much of 2008."

Susan Page of USA TODAY
  • Sarah Palin makes landfall in St. Paul
  • Forget the hurricane that hit the Gulf Coast and the firestorm that greeted Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's entry on the national scene.
Andrew McCarthy: Tons of Quotes
  • With a Smile on Her Face … and Steel in Her Spine
  • Sarah Palin taps into America.
  • Palin is a natural. What we got is what she is: poised, sharp, charming, feisty, funny, and unapologetically patriotic.
  • the speech tapped into a teeming reservoir of repressed rage.
  • So Sarah Palin was sarcastic and biting. That’s how a happy warrior deals with absurdity. That’s how a happy warrior rallies the troops.
  • Americans haven’t been rallied. Well, they’ve been rallied now.
  • rallied, at long last, in a way that resonates:
  • an attractive winner with a smile on her face and steel in her spine.
  • a proud woman living the ups and downs of an American life —
  • a woman the other side spent a week trying to destroy by coming after those she loves most.
  • With grit and good humor, she brushed those critics aside like so many Styrofoam columns.
  • It wasn’t snide. Sarah Palin was grace personified.
  • And now, finally, even we American Taliban have hope.
Todd Palin:
  • had he known where his wife’s civic involvement would lead, “I would have had a few more questions when Sarah decided to join the PTA.”
  • warning to Joe Biden, the proud husband and father said: “When my wife starts talking about reform and corruption. It’s best to get out of the way.”

Laura Ingraham:  Sarah Impalen the Liberals
Good Quotes from the UK Telegraph
  • A star is born. She stuck the knife in with a big smile, a kind of 'Make my day' look," said Michael Barone, conservative columnist and editor of "The Almanac of American Politics".
  • "Forty-four years ago, an actor named Ronald Reagan gave a speech supporting Barry Goldwater and launching his own political career that was known ever after, by his ever increasing group of followers, simply as 'The Speech', wrote Richard Starr in the conservative Weekly Standard.
  • In a column entitled "Welcome Back, Dad", Michael Reagan, adopted son of the late president, wrote: "I saw my Dad reborn; only this time he's a she. And what a she!"
  • Larry Kudlow asked whether "we're not witnessing the Western frontier version of Margaret Thatcher".
    • He added: "She connected really well with middle-class working folks, both in cultural and social terms, which is no small feat: values matter and the Democrats are in trouble here - big-time. The more they go after Palin culturally, as they have already, the more trouble they'll fall into."
  • One blogger described her as "Margaret Thatcher with five kids and a Klondike drawl"
  • Jonah Goldberg enthused: "She was put on this earth to do two things: kill caribou and kick butt. She's all out of caribou."

Palin Makes Landfall in St. Paul & Tsunami Piper 2

Piper Palin Picture
Did you notice the natural expressions Lady Palin's made with her face and eyes...she was looking for the camera.  Wow like Reagan Jr.  She has a rare combination of eloquence, elegance and confidence only seen in people who are authentic and comfortable in their own skin.  She commanded that stage and the cameras where at her beck and call while her choice of words and their delivery reminded me of the spell binding performance of the 3 Tenors.  Sarah Palin embodies American Exceptionalism like a virtuoso!  A bit of Audrey Hepburn meets Lady Thatcher with the shoot in her eyes of a Sargeant York sprinkled in....
I Liked USA Today's gets the best headline and a good article to boot... Palin makes landfall in St. Paul and with her little Tsunami Pipe I might add!  This is Sarah Palin the First....an American Original...

Forget the hurricane that hit the Gulf Coast and the firestorm that greeted Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's entry on the national scene.

The tough rhetoric and sharp-edged humor seemed designed more to rally GOP troops than appeal to undecided independents. Giuliani suggested that Obama had switched positions on such issues as Jerusalem's status, warrantless wiretapping and campaign financing. "If I were Joe Biden, I'd want to get that VP thing in writing," the former New York City mayor joked. "He's never had to lead people in crisis," he said of Obama. "Not a personal attack. A statement of fact. Barack Obama has never led anything. Nothing. Nada. The choice in this election comes down to substance over style. John McCain has been tested. Barack Obama has not."

Earlier, when Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle declared that Obama had zero executive experience - "Zero!" - the crowd took up the chant: "Zero! Zero! Zero!" They would repeat it, off and on, through the evening. It was a late start for a critical week. The convention is one of a few moments, along with the fall debates, that some undecided voters tune in to politics. It's a chance to buff a nominee's appeal or dent his opponent. More than 21 million people watched the GOP convention Tuesday night, Nielsen reported - a huge number, albeit fewer than the nearly 26 million people who watched the second night of the Democratic National Convention last week, when New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton addressed the hall in Denver.

Palin's speech left me Speechless!~)

For the Conservative Moment in America Gov. Palin's speech reminded me of the Movie Matrix when a lifeless Neo returns to life anew...I witnessed President Reagan's revolution which was on life support return anew with such vigor that I was left in awe.  What A MOMENT!  Palin's speech left me speechless....The Conservative movement began to heal and the Tide of the Republican Party began to Rise.  I also heard a bit of Churchill in her words too and I believe she could be America's frontier version of a Margaret Thatcher who captures the sublime rebirth of Hope for Conservative Values in this great land where the experiment of Democracy was born and thrives!

Cheers to this Amazing Woman from the Klondike will do so much for America and what she will do for the Special Olympics is indeed reminiscent of JFK's inspirational inaugural speech....

Rendezvous with Destiny time Capsule!

Governor Sarah Palin has a Gold Medal Performance her first time competing in the Olympics of Politics! She is the daughter of Ronald W. Reagan.....Reagan started his charge with his 1964 Rendezvous with Destiny speech for Goldwater and so this lady has started her journey to the Oval Office...

This Lady has the X factor  raised to the power of Brains, Guts, Rhetoric, Class, Moxie, Experience, Charm, Wit, Vision, Poise, Command and Faith...She has Shoot in her eyes and what she may lack in experience(which I doubt) she makes up innate Leadership ability!  She is a sight to behold a Madonna(accepting the children God gives her) with a Joan of Arc determination, the elegance of Jackie Kennedy and the delivery and wit of JFK!  She does not remind me of a cold barracuda but rather a furry White Fang who hails from the Yukon and in addition to "The Call of the Wild" she has a "Call to Serve"!  She has the X factor in Spades.....God Save the Vice President!

The Alaska Gold Rush stikes again!

MSM's goal 2 Destroy Palin frozen in Judecca!

The neurons in my subconscious just synapsed into my cortex about the MSM viciousness and their savagery ...The viper like strike directed as a coup de gras at Palin's VP candidacy in just 5 days with the ruthlessness of an assassin is the same venomous spirit that stirs in the dark passages of the cold souls of those who support partial birth abortions and fight against the Born Alive Protection Act aimed at protecting babies who survive the assault of a mothers womb.....this smearing of Governor Sarah Palin and her family is child's play for these abortionist of flesh and spirit!

The MSM journalists will end up in the 9th circle of Hell, Dante's deepest ring of the Inferno where  Satan is frozen in ice and is parked for Eternity in a place known as the Judecca.  These heart of stone reporters will end up in the mouth of Lucifer with the worst traitors and liers of all time.....Judas, Brutus and Cascius!

The Senator John McLife

More Pro-Life ammo for John McLife POW and Orphan HERO...God is with this Presidential Paring that exudes America Exceptionalism, Patriotism, Love of Country, Individualism, Independence and Respect for the Sanctity of Life!  This is beyond my wildest expectations.  Guardian Angels hover over America....it is up to us voters to follow are better selves!
“These babies faced short lives without hope -- so Cindy decided she would bring them home, give them hope, and save their lives,” he shared with the convention-goers.

“I remember John’s face when he first met his daughter, Bridget,” he said. “That day he was not the tough war hero senator -- he was like every other new father, full of love and emotion.”

“For more than 20 years I have heard my friend John McCain say, ‘Serve a cause greater than your self-interest,” Gullet told the tens of thousands of people at the Republican national convention. “Those words inspired me and I know they’re inspiring Americans all across the country.”
“That day, my friend John McCain and his wife answered a call for help with love,” he concluded. “I know they will always answer the call of those in need -- because they have done so time and time again throughout their lives.”

Call of the Wild Palin's White Fang MOMENT!

More proof that something like Holy Incense from above is in the air...Zogby online poll shows most Catholics think Palin good choice for McCain. Pelosi Abortion stance brought the ire of Catholic Bishops down on this issue and Catholics are responding.  Wait til African Americans learn about the devasting numbers of Abortion among their race when Alveda King and her African American ProLife preaching friends get discovered...
At a rate of 54 percent, Catholic respondents believe McCain’s choice of Palin would help the Republican ticket, while 31 percent believe it would hurt the campaign. Seven percent believed it would not make a difference
This is "the MOMENT" for Palin to seal the deal after the assassins of Pravda in the MSM have taken her along with her family down to the mat.  I think she'll do it as I believe that she is more than a barracuda more like the embodiment of Jack London's White Fang...a Woman from the Yukon with the Call of the Wild in her veins!

Palin is White Fang in Flesh & Blood!

Sarah Palin from the Yukon has Regan-esque like qualities and potential. I think she has the ability to handle the Camera and Mic the way Reagan did for like Reagan she was also a performer early in life and this will serve her well. She does have the "IT" aka "X" factor the "je ne sais quoi". Some are calling her the American Thatcher great pictures on this Palin for VP site and u can see the je ne sais quoi in them. http://www.palinforvp.com/3.html

There is an English Archbishop who is crazy about here too. see http://archbishop-cranmer.blogspot.com/2008/08/sarah-palin-for-vice-president.html

"It will be difficult for any ‘pro-choice’ group to attack her on this, not least because she lives every day with the very real difficulties of bringing up a Down’s child – a child which the vast majority of pro-choicers would have denied the right to life. And not only is she pro-life; she is pro-marriage, hunts, fishes, and enjoys dog sledding and drilling for oil."

This woman is impressive and reminds me of the lead character in the Debbie Reynolds movie the "Unsinkable Molly Brown"!(an American rag to riches socialite, philanthropist, and activist who became famous as one of the survivors of the sinking of the Titanic http://www.mollybrownmuseum.com) Palin will rise above the hit pieces and body blows. She's Delightful with a Kaleidoscopic personality and just like her Alaska offers America much, Palin offers America her amazing potential!
The Left will try to kill her but I think they will find that she is more than a Barracuda as she is a smart, capable, accomplished woman of faith who depends not on the Pharisees and crucifictionists of the Left and MSM but on the God of our founding fathers!....
Palin is more than a Baracuda, a powerful yet graceful Cougar protecting her young, a Yukonite like White Fang in that famous book by the great American Author Jack London....Palin from the Yukon with a Teddy Rossevelt Heart is as big and refreshing as that last American Forntier....I but my money on Palin and not the assassins of the MSM's Politburo!

I'd Follow John McCain into Hell!

Every time I dig a little into McCain's Pro-Life stance I come away more in awe of McCain and pickin Palin with her family situation probably wasn't even a bump in the road for him....I bet he made his decision about the Gov. as reflexively as he did to Rick Warren's question about when life begins.  He did not flinch!  McCain is more than a Maverick he is a Hero is so many profound ways!  I would be willing to follow a leader like McCain into Hell as I know it would "be for a Heavenly cause!" Leaders like McCain are very rare.

Steyn said Pali was Hyper-American well her and McCain are Hyper-ProLife and I am so impressed!
You gotta read this Interview from
DadMag.com !

Dadmag: What are the up and downs of fatherhood?

McCain:
There are too many joys to name the ups. The only sad part about it is that children grow up. I watch my daughter turn fifteen and my son turn fourteen and I see them getting ready to leave the nest, and I see their interest in me diminishing rather dramatically. (Laughs).

Dadmag: Your youngest daughter Bridget is adopted. Why did you decide to adopt Bridget?

McCain: Well it was primarily my wife's Cindy's idea. She was in Bangladesh and she and some of the medical personnel visited Mother Theresa's orphanage to try and help the children there. There were two little baby girls there. One had a heart problem the other a severe cleft palate. Cindy was very concerned about their ability to survive and their need for medical treatment, so she decided to bring them here for medical treatment. She fell in love with both of them. We decided to adopt Bridget. Two close friends of ours, adopted Mickey, the other child

Dadmag: You knew about your wife's decision before hand?

McCain: (laughs) No. She arrived and said "Say hello to your new little daughter."

Dadmag: A bit of a shock?

McCain: Yes indeed.

Dadmag: And how has it worked out? Are you happy with the decision to adopt Bridget?

McCain: Oh yes! She has enriched our lives. She's a wonderful child, a complete part of our family and we love her.

Dadmag: Your other children accepted her well?

McCain: Oh yeah sure. She's the toughest of the four. The youngest always has to be the toughest.

Dadmag: There are an awful lot of African American children who could be adopted, but there are those who object, including African American organizations which have a policy against interracial adoption.

McCain: I see that barrier more and more breaking down. I think we are making great progress. We just need to make a lot more progress.

Dadmag: You had to go through an extraordinary process to adopt Bridget. A very intrusive process by the bureaucrats. They came to your home and rifled through your drawers. According to what I've read, adoption agency officials even asked about your sex life.

McCain: They were very intrusive. Unfortunately it is a disincentive to some parents because it's so much easier to go overseas. And that leaves us, in this country, with thousands of children who want parents and thousands of parents who want children. One of the goals I've had for a long time is to try to encourage a much less convoluted process in order for parents to adopt a child.

Dadmag: Would the abortion issue be made less troublesome if the adoption process were made easier.

McCain: Absolutely. Since our own story has been publicized we hear a lot from many many parents who have experienced the same frustrations.

Dadmag: You have co-sponsored legislation in the Senate to streamline the process.

McCain: Yes, but it is largely a state responsibility. We have tried to encourage the states to review their adoption procedures. We can not do much at the federal level.

Dadmag: You have children from a previous marriage?

McCain: Yes, and grandchildren.

Dadmag: How has that worked out? Do the children think of themselves as one family?

McCain: I had three children by a previous marriage. My first wife had two children from a previous marriage and I adopted them. We had a child together, a girl. The two boys are married and have children. We're all very close. We get together once a year at least.

Dadmag: Political life at any level exposes the children to any number of potential calamities. As a candidate for President the scrutiny and curiosity is even more oppressive. Was it hard to protect them?

McCain: That's one of the reasons we decided to raise our children in Arizona. Because we felt it would be a much healthier life style for them. And that's been the case.

Dadmag: Do you have any regrets about political life keeping you away form your children?

McCain: As a senator I come back every weekend, and we have a week off every five weeks. Up until the Presidential campaign I was with them as much as most fathers are. My one regret about the Presidential campaign was that it took me away from my children. That was the only regret I had.

Dadmag: Any final words?

McCain: There is nothing in life like a child that you can nurture and love. The reciprocation of that love and nurturing is a thousand times more beneficial to you than it is to the child.

Do Palin kids' needs Trump VP Gig?

Some thoughtful commetors on Hugh Hewitt's blog and caller's to the talk shows question whether the needs of Sarah Palin's children and grandchild trump her political ambitions and McCain's offer to become Vice President gave me pause...However, in looking for a cogent response I am reminded that John McCain has been running for President for several Election Cycles yet inspite of his ambitions and what he had to offer the country he and his wife raised 6 of their own kids and saved 2 Children more adopting 1.  The first, there adopted daughter Bridget is now a teenager, came to them from Mother Teresa of Calcutta's Orphanage needed extensive medical treatment and surgeries.  A second orphan, Nicki was saved by the McCains too and adopted by their aide,Wes Gullet.   Nicki, now in high school was quite sick too but even after years of expensive medical treatment for her, Gullett never "saw a hospital bill" for her care thanks to the McCains.

Governor Sarah Palin and Senator John McCain together with their families are extraordinary people who are commited to such generous and heroic acts and inspite of their personal family Challenges are ready to run the Country.  They are leaders, have huge hearts and are more capable than most of us mere mortals.  They have broad Shoulders and are good leaders for America well ready to handle what Providence has in store for them and America!

Living in Biblical Times?

What a Nomination season we've had!
  • Turns out Obama is like King Herod and is hell bent on killing the Holy Innocents and Builds a Greco-Roman stage to make his pronouncements about decreasing abortions after a Man of the Cloth ask him about when a Human Baby gets rights?
  • Obama gives a Pontius Pilate cop out answer. Like Pilate who answers with a rhetorical What is Truth?, Obama declares that because of the complexity he does not know for it is above his "pay grade."
  • Nancy Pelosi acts like Herod's sister in law and tries to further her ambitions by asking for the heads of babies on the silver platter of Planned Parent-hoods by spewing lies about the Catholic Church's teachings of when life begins.  She is roundly rebuked by the "Apostles" in the Catholic Church who are speaking out forcefully.
  • We have a a Joan of Arc like VP's special needs child's older sister getting pregnant at about the same age as the teenage Virgin Mary. She is going to get married to her betrothed and give birth to a Moses like baby who could have easily been victim of Pharaoh's edict(SCOTUS) of killing Israelite babies while a Biblical Flood is taking place in New Orleans.
  • What is next?  Is Cindy McCain going to announce that like Elizabeth of Luke she has conceived in her Old Age?  Nah...Saint Elizabeth was older than her and the names are wrong as she is married to John!
  • Well I one thing is for certain...we can call Senator McCain John the Pro-lifer...?
